Trap Shooting
by Dave Nystrom

Walt Ross Memorial Trap and Skeet News

Another month has passed and we are making great progress at the Range with the Trap and Skeet Shooters. Although the weather has not been the greatest, we are still having a good turnout on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s. A few of the members went to Lake Havasu Club to do a 100 Round “Fun Shoot” that include 3 rounds of trap and a “5” Stand. We all had a great time there and planning to have one here later on in the spring. Also, the ATA “Big 50” is just about winding down here at the range. All the shooters had a blast doing this event! We have one new shooter that has joined the ATA. We welcome aboard Dave Grassi.

The Wednesday night shoots are going well and everyone coming out is enjoying the camaraderie and the food. We want to promote our range and strive to make this a premier place to shoot whether it is Pistol, Rifle, Bow or Shotgun. There are plans being discussed now about building a “5- Stand” course by the skeet field. We are getting the pieces together bit by bit to make this plan come together and make it a reality.

A BIG Thank You to All that have put there best efforts into making this range a great and pleasant place to shoot! So come on out a “Bust a Few” with us on Wednesday’s and
Sunday’s.

Wednesday’s 4:00pm to 8:00pm or, when everyone’s done.
Sunday’s 8:00am to 12:00noon or, when everyone’s done.

See You at the Range!
Dave

Other Trap News

Arizona State Shoot was held March 26-30 at Red Mountain Trap & Skeet
Club in Scottsdale. Six shooters from our club attended: Randy Frcston,
Steve Bell, John Fornadel, Glen Hendricks, Dave Campanna and Keith Hooper.
Dave won the Arizona State Doubles Class A shooting 95x100 and winning
two shoot offs while his Dad looked on. Keith tied the Arizona State Singles
Class A with Doug Hawkins, who is on the 2007 State Team and is a Singles
State Champion, shooting 197x200. Unfortunately, Keith lost the shoot off.
However, Keith came home with a Red Mountain and an Arizona State 100-
straight pin. Good shooting guys!

The Birds Are Flying Shooting at the Trap Range has really increased.
Sunday, April 13, shooters were backed up at the Skeet Range and were
going non-stop at the Trap Range. Everybody was having a good time. Also,
we’re shooting ATA Big 50s on Wednesday evenings and Chefs John Fornadel
and Dave Nystrom are “cooking” in the kitchen.

Challenge Shoot There will be a Tournament held Friday through Sunday,
May 30 thru June 1 with Lake Havasu City, Maywood and Lynwood. Friday
there will be open shooting and games, games and more games. Saturday’s
program is 50-skeet, 25-pair doubles and more games. Sunday we will shoot
